Description

About Bodegas y Viñedos San Román

Bodegas y Viñedos San Román is a red wine from the D.O. Toro crafted by Bodegas y Viñedos San Román. At the helm of this winery is Mariano García, an oenologist renowned for his work with Mauro and for his tenure at the prestigious Vega Sicilia, where he was responsible for producing 30 vintages of their legendary wines.

Bodegas y Viñedos San Román is a single-varietal wine made from the Tinta de Toro grape, a variety typical of the D.O. Toro. The grapes are sourced from various plots planted with 45-year-old vines at an altitude of 750 metres above sea level, with stony and sandy-clay soils. The climate is an extreme continental one with very little rainfall, abundant sunshine, and significant temperature fluctuations between day and night, which aids in the proper ripening of the grapes. Each plot is vinified separately.

Bodegas y Viñedos San Román undergoes an aging process of 24 months in French and American oak barrels, with 20% of the barrels renewed with each vintage.

Bodegas y Viñedos San Román is a wine that astonishes. Brimming with fruit, it embodies all the character of the D.O. Toro while maintaining elegance. A red wine touched by the magic of Mariano García, an oenologist with an impeccable career at wineries such as Vega Sicilia or Aalto.Bodegas y Viñedos San Román is a vino de Toro that is profound, powerful, and elegant. A wine with great potential for development in the bottle.
